Monsignor Joseph Nasrallah, while fully assuming his duties as a man of the Church, built a considerable scientific work, ranging from systematic inventories of Christian Arabic manuscripts to a monumental history of the literary movement in the Melchite Church; his work on Saint John of Damascus is still a reference. In composing this Memorial, academics from various countries bear witness to the international influence of the work of the learned Syrian prelate.
